SMS Opt-In Process

Effective date: June 14, 2026

This page documents how PromptMeet collects consent before sending any SMS messages. Consent is collected in two steps: optional written consent on a physical sign-up sheet, followed by a double opt-in confirmation by SMS.

SMS opt-in is entirely optional and is never a condition of membership, of being scheduled for an interview, or of using any PromptMeet service. Members who do not opt in are contacted through other means (in person, by phone, or by a leader) and are not disadvantaged in any way.

Step 1 — Optional Written Consent (Sign-Up Sheet)

Members may opt in by checking a clearly labeled, optional SMS consent box and writing their mobile phone number on a physical sign-up sheet at their local organization. Checking the box is a separate, voluntary action — simply providing a phone number does not enroll anyone in text messages; only checking the SMS opt-in box does. The sheet includes the following consent disclosure, which every participant sees:

Step 2 — Double Opt-In by SMS

After an authorized organization leader enters the number from the sign-up sheet into the PromptMeet platform, the system sends a single opt-in invitation:

"PromptMeet: Your PromptMeet group would like to send you interview scheduling messages. Reply YES to opt in. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time."

No scheduling messages are sent unless the member actively replies YES or START. Members who do not reply receive no further messages. Upon replying YES, the member receives:

"PromptMeet: You've opted in to receive PromptMeet group messages. Msg & data rates may apply. Msg frequency varies. Reply HELP for help or STOP to cancel."

Only after this confirmation is the member eligible to receive scheduling messages.

Opting Out

Members may opt out at any time by replying STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to any message. Reply HELP or INFO for help.
